WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 2004 (India)
World Champioship
Dear Member
As you know, the 2004 World Championship has taken place in India and has achieved great success on all fronts. Despite the distance between Europe and India, two dozen countries attended this event, the majority coming from all corners of Europe, for a total of 90 athletes, all with an exceptional level. Even the Pakistani team, usually more discreet, has made some very good athletes, and India who won the title in the junior category.
The hotel that hosted the nation was in a tropical paradise where every athlete had the opportunity to eat properly since 24/24 restaurant had been provided specifically for WABBA
The first appointment with the nations took place on Friday at the World Congress presented by Fabien Debecq, world president, assisted by its committees (technical committee, committee of judges and rules committee). All the athletes had made a point of honor to be present because the new rules for the categories were presented for the first time.
Was also on the agenda of this meeting the presentation of these new committees created by Fabien Debecq, namely: the committee of judges (Coselli and Gianni Massimo Pratelli) Technical Committee (Mario Chiavuzzo Daniel Moyson Marco Bianchini and Marcel Fabrega) and finally the rules committee (Mario and Massimo Chiavuzzo Pratelli). These committees were designed to improve coordination and communication with each nation and each athlete, which was appreciated by all. Our federation is finally being professionally structured.
The third point of this congress was the presentation of Mike Wilson, president of Great-Britain WABBA and organizer of the next European Championship to be held in London in late June 2005 and will probably include a Professional Grand Prix. It is clear that Mike Wilson is a dynamic and professional, both in his speech that in the way he proposes to organize the European Championship. Naturally, this is a first for WABBA who has never held an international competition in England and it is obvious that all the athletes attending were enthusiastic and very motivated by this competition.
The highlight of this meeting was the presentation of Manjunath Hegde, organizer of the World Championship in India and exemplary businessman in the world, particularly in Asia. He has offered a WABBA extraordinary competition on all fronts, especially on the day of the finals, where the scene was exceptionally large and enjoyed a stage that any federation that day can boast.
The world president, Fabien Debecq, spoke at the conclusion of this conference to inform the assembly that the Russian team was still in Moscow following the cancellation of their flight due to bad weather. Therefore, they arrive one day late, ie on Saturday morning around 11:00, which was a problem since the prejudging was to begin at 10:00. The World Chairman proposed to postpone this prejudging 20:00 clearly explaining that it was important to respect the Russian athletes who had been preparing for months and that it was inconceivable to ask them to go on stage directly to their arrival, c that is to say, after over 15 hours! All athletes attending the congress raised his hand in token of acceptance, a sign of fair play that the Russian team has thoroughly enjoyed his arrival.
The Saturday took place in peace. Indeed, the prejudging was held in one of the sumptuous rooms of the hotel and the athletes could enjoy the scenery, the setting, the sun, gym, massage and swimming pool. At 20:00, the prejudging began with the Miss Shape category where beautiful Samora Schreijer, the Netherlands, has emerged unanimously in both - 30 years in all categories. This athlete has an exceptional physique and routine out of the ordinary, let no chance to his opponents. However, in Miss Shape more than 30 years, the Italian Maria Bettegazzi won easily. Note also the excellent posing the English Andi Black, who dominated all the Miss thanks to her remarkable choreography.
Then came the Miss Fitness + and - 30 years, where the Italian Gabriella Giarrattano won the trophy in all categories. Despite his excellent physical condition and excellent presentation, the French Odile Lupon could not compete with Gabriella. It is also worth noting that Russia, Slovenia and Latvia have provided in all classes, a plateau Miss a high quality and it is not surprising that they strongly needed in WABBA near future.
In the next category, namely, Junior, India has emerged with an athlete of quality, less than 21 years: Ajay Patil
The prejudging continued by the Masters 45 +. It was hard to believe that these athletes have over 45 years were so impressive muscle quality, quality of skin and their physical preparation. The Norwegian Charles Abboh who won first place and thus became automatically professional. This athlete has already announced he will attend the Professional Grand Prix in England next June. It has all the chances to win in this category.
Then came the Small Class category that included once again many athletes worthy of winning the title. The French David Ramos was the big winner, separated only by one point from Russia, represented by Alexey Sebastianov. Well done also to Belgium with Clarence Devis, emerged in fourth place. However, if this athlete had a better muscle definition, he would have no problem to reach one of the first two places. Of course we count on his coach Ferdi Robijns (company director PERFORMANCE) to improve all that. However, he spoiled us with his remarkable routine If athletes in general could focus on what kind of performance they would provide more entertainment to the public and the judges and bring a superior quality to our discipline.
In Class Medium Class, Latvia has won first place with the exceptional Vitalijs Aleksandrovs who competed in an international for the first time. He emerged in "all categories" and was even able to dominate during the final with professionals. This athlete deserves a lot of respect for his simplicity. Nobody during the days before the prejudging was noticed, however, when he appeared on stage he has dominated all other athletes, however, had a physical world. As for Switzerland, she finished second, with Francesco Corrar Bardansca which gave us a perfect symmetry, rarely seen until now, and an exceptionally wide shoulders. We wish good luck to the athlete because it is clear that he will talk to him very quickly in the upcoming events.
In Class Tall Class, a small disappointment for Guadeloupe Jean-Marc Claire was however a perfect symmetry and definition. His second place is probably due to the fact that the Russian Mohov Viatcheslav had a muscle density a bit larger. Also noted that only two points separate these two athletes. We hope that Jean-Marc go on in other international competitions since it is obvious he has everything to reach the top of the podium.
On Sunday, the final started at around 17:00 and ended at midnight. Most results have been accepted by all athletes and their nations, except some of them who were particularly disappointed. But there is no doubt that our field is extremely ungrateful because judgments are made by human beings and the criteria are sometimes difficult to manage.
Exceptionally, for the first time, WABBA made competing in the professional category at the end of the evening, the winners of each category rights, including the Master category. During the last exhibition of the evening, Spain, represented by Samuel Saviour has for the second time dominated this category by offering an unusual physical and muscular definition rarely equaled. Note that this athlete is sponsored by Natures Best Europe, which allows him to concentrate 100% on his discipline and perhaps justifies his excellent physical condition. In this same category, Greece Michail Kefalianos presented, a great athlete and very fit, who finished second ahead of our great new Latvian athlete, Vitalijs.
Finally point out the presence of a newcomer to the WABBA previously professional in the IFBB athlete gigantic Norwegian Jostein Oedegaarden, won fourth place and was satisfied with the outcome. Moreover, his first experience WABBA, he was staggered by a professional organization. He announced that he will continue to defend our federation and we will probably see the opportunity at the next Professional Grand Prix in 2005.
The competition ended with a grand gala including a buffet where every athlete could eat without paying attention to eating. Of course, at this time a smile on the faces of these athletes!
Again thank Manjunath Hegde, organizer of this event and president of the Indian federation, for this wonderful competition and the best hospitality accorded to all nations and international sponsors of the WABBA, Maximize Europe (www.
